Across South African agriculture, a significant number of rural incidents never make it into any formal record. Not because nothing is happening. Because the barriers to reporting are real, and the perceived return on reporting often feels low. So farmers say nothing.
A tracker reading the land does not see an empty field. They read what passed, when it passed, and how many. What is not recorded cannot be read. The gap between what happens and what is on record is where the problem hides.
WhatsApp groups and farm watch networks do vital work. But a voice message to a neighbour leaves no formal record. No evidence. No timestamp. Nothing that builds a trail over time.
The land sees more when more people are watching.
A record that complements existing channels. And fills the gaps they leave.
AgriSpoor works alongside existing reporting structures, not in place of them. What it does is capture the incidents that currently go unrecorded: a structured, evidenced, time-stamped dataset that builds a more complete picture of rural safety in South Africa.
Where the recorded picture and the lived reality diverge, that gap becomes the basis for AgriSA’s advocacy, with government, with safety authorities, and with policymakers. Your report, however small it seems, is part of that case.

The moment you open an incident, GPS pins your exact location. Add photos directly from your phone. Evidence is captured on the spot, not reconstructed later. Every report arrives time-stamped, location-verified, and with proof attached. Whether you are on your farm or fifty kilometres away, the record is the same quality.
If you saw it, report it. Even if you think someone else already has.
The instinct to defer is natural. Someone closer to the incident has probably already logged it. But duplicate reports do not cancel each other out. They compound the case. If fifteen farmers report stray animals on the same stretch of road, that is not redundancy. That is fifteen data points showing a persistent problem that demands a response.

Every report submitted through the AgriSpoor App goes directly to your provincial agricultural union. AgriSA also receives every report. Their teams have live access to a dedicated dashboard where your report, and every report from your province, is visible, tracked, and acted on. These are the organisations that know the land, know the farmers, and have the networks and the mandate to respond.
